What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a quick, non-invasive method for permanently eliminating unwanted hair on certain areas of the body.

How does the treatment work?
For laser hair removal, a high-intensity laser penetrates deep into the skin tissue. The laser is able to reduce the number of growing hairs in that particular area by heating and damaging the hair follicle. 

Does it hurt?
The laser pulse used in the treatment may cause slight discomfort for some patients. This discomfort can be minimized with several products, such as Candela’s cooling spray or a topical anesthetic.

How many treatments are required?
Because hair growth can only be affected when hair is actively growing, several sessions are required to destroy all of the hair follicles in a particular area.

Is Laser Hair Removal safe?
Laser hair removal is a completely safe procedure. At New Day Medical Spa, we use a variety of lasers, each of which has been approved by the FDA for hair reduction.

Are there any possible side effects?
In some cases, clients experience stinging, mild swelling and pigmentation changes immediately following their treatment. Very rarely, small blisters or may appear. These side effects are only temporary and typically fade within a day or two of treatment. Scarring and the activation of viral infections, such as herpes and shingles, may occur in clients who are already predisposed. At New Day Medical Spa, clients who are interested in laser hair removal treatment must provide a complete medical history first to prevent any scarring or infection.

Will there be any downtime?
There is no downtime associated with laser hair removal. You may return to your normal routine immediately after the treatment is completed.

What are the benefits of Laser Hair Removal over other treatments?
At New Day Medical Spa, we use the Candela GentleLase and GentleYag because studies have proven that both of these lasers provide superior hair reduction results when compared to IPL (intense pulsed light) devices.

How long does a Laser Hair Removal treatment last?
The procedure can between 15 minutes and an hour depending on the size of the area being treated.

Does Laser Hair Removal work on white or blonde hair?
Unfortunately, there are currently no effective treatments for the permanent reduction of white or blonde hair.
